BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 11. The delegation headed by Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium Alexander De Croo, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), visited Baku International Sea Trade Port, Trend reports.
The meeting, which was also attended by Azerbaijan's Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev, discussed the reduction of carbon emissions to near-zero levels, the minimization of harmful climate impacts in the maritime sector, and solutions for the port's sustainable development.
At the meeting, which was also attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to Azerbaijan Julien de Fraipont, as well as senior officials of Jan De Nul Company, which has experience in maritime services and dredging, issues of mutual interest were discussed, such as expansion of opportunities for further cooperation and exchange of experience between the ports of Belgium and Baku Port.
The guests were finally reviewed with the port terminals and
workflow corresponding to technological innovations.
To note, the port of Baku and the Belgian port of Antwerp are
currently cooperating.
