BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 12. The Western Azerbaijan Community strongly condemns the racist, slanderous, and biased views expressed by the President of PACE, Theodoros Rousopoulos, in an interview with the Alpha News press agency regarding Azerbaijan, the community statement said, Trend reports.

The statement emphasized that the rude and irresponsible speech of Rousopoulos once again demonstrates the moral bankruptcy of PACE.

"PACE has remained indifferent to the ethnic cleansing of more than a million Azerbaijanis by Armenia, which is the biggest human rights violation in the region. The institution has openly revealed its anti-Azerbaijani nature and racist approach towards the Azerbaijani people after Azerbaijan liberated its territories from Armenian occupation.

The representation of racists like Rousopoulos in PACE, who are 'sad' that Azerbaijan has ended the 30-year occupation by Armenia and thus allowed more than 700,000 Azerbaijani IDPs to return to their homes, and who actually oppose the right of return of hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia, is an insult to the concept of human rights.

In the current tense global geopolitical situation, it seems to Rousopoulos and those who share his thoughts that the world consists only of the PACE hall, they are irresponsible, speak above their throats, and believe in their 'exceptionalism'.

The Western Azerbaijan Community appeals to the European community and common-sense political forces to fight against these elements that spread conflict, racism, and who are unknown to whom they serve on the European continent," the statement pointed out.
