A regular session of the Parliamentary Assembly of GUAM, a regional organization among Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova, will be held in New-York on 7-9 September 2005.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan told Trend that the speakers from GUAM member-countries вЂ" Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova - will meet under a worldwide meeting of the heads of national parliaments, which will take place in New-York.
At present the agenda of the session and the participation of the speakers of the GUAM countries is being coordinated through diplomatic channels.
The gathering will mull further development of the organization, perspectives of the cooperation between the legislative bodies, improvement of the mechanisms on influence on the conflicts existing in the territory of these countries. A final document will be signed after the meeting.
The chairman of Milli Mejlis, Murtuz Alasgarov, accepted the invitation to take part in this meeting. It will come as the second session of the PA GUAM, which was founded in Kiev in 2004.
