Chairman of the Azerbaijan’s Committee Against Tortures of the Council of Europe Elchin Beybutov and his deputy Bahram Sadigov conducted monitoring on 2 September of some preliminary detention cells of the Interior Ministry of Azerbaijan, Elchin Beybutov told Trend.
According to him, monitoring was carried out at the police department of Yasamal district and police stations NN 26,27, 28 and 29. В"Inspections were performed based on the permission of the Interior Minister Ramil Usubov. Our goal was to inform the Minister of the negative facts of arbitrariness and averting them at the pre-detention cells”.
Elchin Beybutov noted also, that at the result of the inspections no serious violations were found out. On 3 September Elchin Beybutov will continue monitoring in another district.
