Polling held quietly as of 11.00am вЂ" head of CIS observers

“As of 11.00 the situation with the poll was quiet,” Vladimir Rushaylo, the head of the CIS Observation Mission, the Executive Secretary of the CIS, told journalists on Sunday (6 November). He was commenting on the process of polling for the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan, Trend reports.

He marked the active participation of the electors in the polls in the rural places. “This is not the first elections in Azerbaijan, while the first impression is more positive than the previous ones, in particular, for the preparations for the elections,” Rushaylo added. Comparably more number of candidates to MP testifies for open and democratic elections.

Head of CIS mission refuted media reports on the consultations held with the Azerbaijani authorities in connection with the violations, fixed during the pre-elections campaign. “We hold consultations in the legal fields, where all international observation missions functions,” he underscored.

Rushaylo also noted that as of 11.00am [local time] they noted definite shortages, including the complaints and appeals which are currently under consideration. “We send inquiries to the Interior Ministry, the Supreme Court and the CEC in connection with the appeals. We will study them during the day and the results will be publicized within the final statement,” he underlined.

CIS observation mission works in all 125 constituency elections commissions of Azerbaijan.
