Azerbaijani MPs disseminates two documents at PACE on gross violations of the CE Charter by Armenia

Azerbaijani parliamentary delegate to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Rafael Huseynov, disseminated at the PACE winter session a document on gross violations of the CE Charter by Armenia. Huseynov old Trend that the first document titled Unacceptability of a CE membership of aggressive Armenia with activities contradicting the fundamental principles and major criteria of the CE.

According to Huseynov, the document addressed to the CE Ministerial Committee envisages a written question on 5-year activities of Armenia as a CE member. It indicates Armenia cannot hold CE membership due to systematic violation of CE commitments, continuation of occupation policy in the territory of Azerbaijan, as well as negative position in regard to human rights within the country.

Isnt it high time to exclude Armenian from the Council of Europe, which over 5-year activities as a CE member has come against the fundamental principles and criteria, demonstrating its turpitude to the CE family due to occupation policy pursued against Azerbaijan? It was officially called as an aggressor by the PACE and impeded the development of democracy with in the country, the document underlines. Upon the discussions it will be published together with the reply prepared.

The second document which touches upon the ecological aspect of the damage as result of the occupation of the Azerbaijani territory by Armenia. In particular, they inform PACE on the fact of illegal development of the Azerbaijani mines, underline the necessity of ceasing the activities of companies involved in such operations with support from the Armenian government. The document will be discussed at relevant committees of PACE and a relevant resolution will be taken finally, Huseynov stressed. He did not rule out possible appointment of a rapporteur on the issue.
