MP Asim Mollazade, the chairman of the Democratic Reforms Party, said that public financing of political parties might intensify formation of democratic political system in Azerbaijan.
It would be more expedient to see the government to be the major source of financing of the political parties, he underlined, So, initially the parties should receive financing in a definite amount. Mollazade noted the necessity of establishment of appropriate funds by the parties represented in the parliament, as well as by the government: The funds are intended to raise the public awareness on political ideas, establishment of economic, political, social systems. The funds can also work for promoting the represent of the political in the international organization and establishment of international relationships, according to Mollazade.
He added that the relevant experience was widely spread in Germany and France. The parties, represented in the state bodies and parliament of the countries, establish relevant funds.
Mollazade assures that in case of use of a mechanism on financing of political parties at the expense of public funds in Azerbaijan, the votes collected by parties during the elections.
