At least the public financing of the political parties will occur. It will occur shortly perhaps, but the public assistance to the political parties will only benefit, Mirmahmud Miralioglu, the chairman of the Popular Front of Azerbaijan Party (PFAP, classics) told Trend.
He noted the absence of anti-state principles in the activities and charter of any party. So, the key duty of the government and the authorities is to finance political parties. The parties are funded at the expense of the public budget in all civilized countries of the world irrespective on their political positions. The process is delayed in Azerbaijan, he regretted. Though late, it is necessary to apply the practice.
According to Miralioglu, the ideas urging the necessity of public financing of only the parties represented in the parliament, the leader of PFAP (classics) are artificial hindrance in this way and it will never last long. If this principle is accepted through adoption of changes and supplements to the Law on Political Parties, in future it will become necessary to reconsider it.
