Fikion Fotiadis, Deputy General Director of the European Commission (EC) on foreign relationships will visit Baku from 6 to 8 April 2006, Arif Mammadov, the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Benelux countries and the European Union, told Trend.
Fauzi Bensars, adviser of the Director on energy issues, will accompany him in this visit.
During the meeting with the leadership of the country it is planned to discuss European Neighborhoods Policy, issues linked with the EU energy security, as well as the expansion of transit corridors from Middle Asia via Azerbaijan in compliance with the EU Green Paper, a document defining EUs Energy Security strategy.
