Activity of the inter-parliamentary work groups is very weak, Social Politics permanent commission chairman in Milli Mejlis, and head of the Azerbaijani Greek inter-parliamentary work group, Hadi Rajabli told Trend.
Friendly inter-parliamentary groups from parliaments of 67 countries were created by the Milli Mejlis decision.
Weak activity in this area is connected to the lack of financing, Rajabli said, adding that Greece is a parliamentary state. Countries with the parliamentary system have very strong influence of parliament on state and society. Special attention should be paid to the development of inter-parliamentary relations with such countries, he said.
Azerbaijani- Pakistani and Azerbaijani- Hungarian friendly parliamentary groups heads, Eldar Ibrahimov and Hanhuseyn Kazimli also stated that by some reasons works in that area are not conducted at the necessary level. Though, this area is now under the parliament` s attention and it is planned to expand its activity.
