Admission to Azeri universities for 2006-2007 SY starts

The State Commission on Admission of Students announced on the admission of the students to the state-owned and private universities, that have undergone official registration, in the 2006-2007 school year (SY), Trend reports quoting Meleyka Abbaszade, the chairman of the State Commission, as stating to a news conference on 20 June.

The rules on admission of applications were published in the third issue of Abiturient magazine.

According to Abbaszade, this year the State Commission will carry out admission on 261 specialties to 27 state and 13 private universities. The total amount of sits in these universities comprises 25,629, including 22,479 at state universities and the rest at private universities. The applicants can appeal for 5 groups of specialties.

The admission of applications will start on 25 June. This year for the first time the admission will be held to specialty Management in Tourism and Tourism and Social Culture Service at the newly established Institute of Tourism.

Abbaszade said that this year, like in the previous years, the State Commission will take strict measures of security during the exams. Foreign companies involved in defense and security will also attracted to this work.
