OSCE is used as a space where one could lobby unilateral politicized approaches to known frozen conflicts that have nothing with the real efforts on settling them fully, Sergey Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister, said during the 14th sitting of the Council of the Foreign Ministers of OSCE Member-States, Trend reports.
The experience proves: such actions only trigger the growth of tensions and mistrust and throw the peaceful settlement back. One should not substitute the necessity to achieve the observation of their obligations by the parties for some simplified ideas. We should everybody guide the basic principles of settlement of regional conflicts. And the respect to the Khelsinki Final Act, achieving agreements by conflict parties by their own efforts, unconditioned taking the position of each conflict party into consideration, inadmissibility of alternatives using force, careful attitude to the exiting negotiating and peacekeeping formats, settling the conflict by stages, as well as the presumed priority of measures on establishing a dialogue between conflict parties, and care for those people who are suffering from such conflicts, said the Russian Foreign Minister.
