The next 11th summit of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) has been scheduled for March 2008 in Dakar (Senegal), Trend reports quoting the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
The agenda and program of the forthcoming forum has not been worked out, but it is known that one of the important questions will be making amendments to the OIC Regulation adopted in 1970.
OIC was created in September 1969 at the conference of the State and Government Heads of the Muslim countries in Rabat. Presently the OIC brings together 57 member states, and 10 observant states. Azerbaijan joined the OIC in 1992. The final summit of the Organization took place in October 2003 in Malaysian city Putrage.
