I consider that the results of the competition for the frequency of ANS should be declared void because the tender was not bid by three contenders as required, the Chairman of the Azerbaijan National TV and Radio Council, Nushiravan Maharramli, exclusively informed Trend.
He stressed that together with the law On broadcasting the Council will discuss the law On tender. According to the law On tender, the tender on the frequencies of the TV channels should be bid by 3 companies or individuals. Otherwise, the results of the tender cannot be considered valid and should be annulled.
This point of law gives us grounds to annul the results of the tender for the frequency of ANS. I consider that the law should be above all and therefore, the results are invalid. It is my personal opinion, but the Council's explanation will be presented to the Head of ANS, Maharramli said.
According to him, after the results are voided, a new tender will be announced for the frequency of ANS. If the new tender also not bid by three contenders, the results will be considered invalid. According to the law, the tender will continue until three contenders participate in it, Maharramli said.
In addition, he stated that the decision on the results of the competition will be revealed at a meeting of the Council in the near future.
