Vasiliy Istratov, the Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, stated at a news conference in Baku on February 2nd that Russia tries to be constructive and honest to a maximum in the resolution of Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, Trend reports.
Touching upon statements sounded by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a news conference, the diplomat once more confirmed Russia's position. The position is that at this stage of conflict, a resolution is in a difficult phase and mostly depends on the position of the sides in conflict rather than OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs. Later the Ambassador noted that Russian military bases located in Armenia are not directed against any country, including Azerbaijan.
