Azerbaijan, Baku, Trend , corr I. Alizadeh/ The Milli Majlis (Azerbaijan's Parliament) has passed the Draft "On Society of the Golden Crescent of Azerbaijan" in its third reading during today's sitting of Parliament.
The Chairperson of the Permanent Committee for Human Rights, Rabiyyat Aslanova, said that after the legislation was passed in the second reading, the mentioned bill has been significantly improved on the basis of proposals put forward.
Mrs Aslanova said that the society had been founded in 1920 and rendered exemplary humanitarian aid for many years. Over the past years of its activity, the organization has worked out its own traditions and its mission. It successfully continued its activity after Azerbaijan claimed its independence in 1991.
She also noted that the mentioned draft would serve to the development of the Society of the Golden Crescent of Azerbaijan, by adding that this document would play an important role in judicial regulation of the activity of the organization.
The draft consisting of 8 articles, determines the status, rights, and orientations of further activity, as well as bilateral relations with state offices and agencies and municipalities. In accordance to the mentioned Bill, the Society of the Golden Crescent of Azerbaijan will be financed from the State Budget of the country. After debates over the mentioned draft took place in Parliament, the Bill was passed in its last - the third reading.
