Aggrieved Person Testifies at Trial of Azerbaijan Former Health Minister’s Attorney

Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr K. Zarbaliyeva / The aggrieved person testified at the trial of the Azerbaijan former health minister's attorney, Rizvan Talybov. At the hearing at Sumgayit City Court presided by judge Tahmina Khalilova, the aggrieved person, Ilham Sharifov, proved his testimonies previously given during the investigation, attorney Mushvig Huseynov said to Trend.

The accused Talybov did not pledge guilty. The trial will continue on 14 September with testifies of the witnesses.

Talybov is charged in compliance with Article 221.2.2 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan Republic.

The criminal case with regard to Rizvan Talybov, the director of the Committee on Protection of Rights of Azerbaijani Ex-Minister for Health, Ali Insanov, and the chairman of the Public Union for Return to West Azerbaijan, was field on the basis of the appeal of his neighbour. He is kept in Investigation Cell 3 in Shuvalan settlement. In recent statement to press Talybov included himself to the list of jailed journalists.
