Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr S. Ilhamgizi / A labour fair was held in Moscow on 19 September. It was jointly initiated by the Russian Congress of Azerbaijanis and the Russian Government, the Chairman of the Congress's Moscow Department, Ilgar Hajiyev, told Trend.
According to him, over seventy companies and about 200 unemployed people took part in the fair. Jobs were being offered by state and private organizations. The main bulk of the proposals were made by construction companies, bus and trolleybus fleets, and the department on planting greenery, and so on.
According to Hajiyev, labour contracts were signed with part of the employed Azerbaijanis. The rest of unemployed people are still negotiating with the employers.
Labour fairs for Azerbaijanis take place once every three months.
According to unofficial reports, there are approximately three million Azerbaijanis residing in Russia.
