(news.sawf.org) - Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks, 24, and MTV star Nick Cannon, 26, have broken their engagement to focus on their careers.
"Selita and Nick are taking a break to focus on their careers but still very much love each other and remain the best of friends," Selita's rep Melissa Raubvogel told People.
The two were engaged May 7, 2007 night when, after they attended the Metropolitan Museum of Art costume gala, Cannon got down on one knee in Times Square and presented Ebanks with a 12-carat diamond ring while the words "Selita, will you marry me?" were projected on the MTV Jumbotron.
In June Ebanks had said she and Nick are taking their time planning their wedding which will take place "in a year and a half to two years."
In August Cannon had said "We haven't really talked about a lot of that stuff. You've got to take it slow."
