Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. K.Ramazanova / On 5 October the witnesses provided testimonies regarding the case of the Deputy Commander of the Protection Brigade of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan, Rasim Muradov, during the court hearing at the Court on Heinous Crimes. They approved their testimonies provided during investigation and said that Muradov took bribe from them.
The process will continue on 10 October. Due to absence of testimonies, the accusations against Muradov regarding corruption and misuse of authority were cancelled. The colonel is accused in compliance with the article 311.3.2 (taking repeat bribes) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
Muradov was arrested on 24 July. A criminal case was filed against him by the Commander of the Protection Brigade, Mirzali Yusifov, in March.
Muradov said that pressure was put on him. He said that he was arrested for informing public of illegal actions in the Protection Brigade of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan.
