Gender Equality Observed in  Azerbaijan:   Azerbaijan’s State Committee’s Chairman

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Ilhagizi / The number of women in state structures increased in Azerbaijan, as well as people engaged in gender issues have been appointed to state organizations and executive administration, Hijran Huseynova, the Chairman of the State Committee on Family, Women and Children's Problems, said during a conference dedicated to the anniversary of the bill on 'Gender equality'.

Gender balance has been observed in Azerbaijan since the passing of the bill. The number of women entrepreneurs has increased in the country.

MP Rabiyat Aslanova said requirements should be placed before the Azerbaijani Ministries to expand the activities of Azerbaijani women in society. Men's egoism hinders women in society.

MP Khadi Rajabli said there are more numbers of women than men in NGOs than in state structures.

Adila Abbasova, the chief of the social legislation department, said changes have been made in eleven bills of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan in order to increase the rights of women and protect gender equality.
