Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia May to Make Statement

Russia, Moscow / Trend corr. R.Agayev / The Azerbaijani embassy to Russia may make a statement due to the attack on the passenger train going from Baku to Artezian station. "The embassy will make a statement after getting all the necessary information about the incident," the Azerbaijani diplomatic representative in Moscow reported on 29 October.

Visota 107 News Agency reported some 60 people armed with piercing and cutting facilities attacked passenger train-373/374 going from Baku to Tyumen at Artezian station (North-Caucasus Railways) of the Republic of Kalmykia ( Russian Federation) on 26 October. As a result, 25 people got injured.

A criminal case has been filed over the fact by the Prosecutor Office of Dagestan. Five suspected persons were detained due to the incident by law enforcement bodies of the Russian Federation.

The administration of the Azerbaijani State Railway urged the administration of the Russian Railways LLC, North-Caucasus Railways and Russia's transport police to seriously investigate the incident and to undertake relevant measures.

The reason of the incident has not been revealed yet. The Azerbaijani Government demand from the Russian Railway, North-Caucasian Railway and transport police of the North Caucasus to investigate the case as soon as possible.

The chairman of the Association of Volgograd Azerbaijani intellectuals, Rizvan Seyfullayev, called the incident a provocation against Russia.
