We Want to Score a Goal Against Belgium – Azerbaijani Footballer

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. Z.Safarov / The last round in the qualifiers for EURO 2008 will see Azerbaijan play Belgium. The match will be held in the T.Bahramov Republic stadium on 21 November. The home team has trained hard and wants to win. The forward Branimir Subashich, who plays for Nefchi, stands out as a player hoping to defeat the rivals. Subashich shared his impressions with a special reporter from Trend news agency on the eve of the match.

- How much do you want to win?

- I cannot explain it. We want to score a goal and win. Yes, our rival lost the chance to qualify for the final game of Euro-2008; however, they do not plan to lose the match in Baku.

- How much does has the game of the national team changed after the arrival of the coach, Joko Hajiyevski?

- There is progress. It was visible during the match against the Fins. Now fans expect a better match during the game against the Belgium national team, and I believe that we can justify those hopes. I must say that the match against the Fins was not a one off.

- Do you expect the tickets to be sold out?

- Certainly. I was told that the arena will be full. We hope the weather will not let down us. However, the match will be very interesting, as I know.

- What can you say about the force of the current national team of Belgium?

- We watched a tape of the matches of our rival. It is difficult to say how the team will play now. Evidently, the team has young players who can handle the ball perfectly. However, this quality is not enough for victory.

- How can you stand against your rivals?

- Will. We will try to prove that there is football in Azerbaijan too.

- And, certainly, to score a goal?

- I hope so!
