Foundation for Support to Turkic Speaking Countries Opens Middle East Representational Office

Azerbaijan, Baku, 4 February / Тrend corr E. Huseynov / The Foundation for Support to Policies of Turkic Speaking Countries opened its Middle East representational office in Israel. The decision to open the office was made at a meeting of the representatives of a range of diaspora organizations in Baku on 3 February, the chair of the Congress of Azerbaijanis in Middle East, Alex Shapiro-Suliman said to Trend.

Khani Osmanova, an Israeli citizen, was elected as head of the representational office.

According to Shapiro-Suliman, consultations with the Foundation's President Nusrat Mammadov took place in Baku and joint agreements and arrangements were achieved. One of the arrangements will be a scientific and practical conference dedicated to the anniversary of the massacre committed by Armenians in the Azerbaijani Khojali region in 1992 to take place in Israel on 17 February. The conference will be organized along with the Turkish Embassy in Israel.

The Foundation for Support to the Policies of Turkic Speaking Countries also decided to award gold medals to Alex Shapiro-Suliman and to the chair of the Azerbaijani Section in the Congress of Azerbaijanis in Middle East, Ismayil Agayev, for contributions to the development of the relationships between diaspora organizations, raising awareness in the world community about Azerbaijan, and development of a dialogue among religions and civilizations.

The Foundation for Support to Policies of Turkic Speaking Countries is a public organization, with its headquarters located in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
