Russia, Moscow, 7 May / corr. Trend R. Agayev/ A concert of nationalities was held at the Moscow State University of International Relations on 7 May dedicated to the 63rd anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Andrey Selantyev, the pro-rector for international relations at the University who made opening speech said that the victory over fascism is a common holiday. "Unfortunately, some countries consider fascism and Nazism to be heroic, especially in the Baltic countries. Some countries make such an impression that everything was not so bad under fascism, but in fact, this is not true," he said. "We should always remember the feat of out fathers and grandfathers, the troubles they suffered in the battle front and rear. I am glad to see representatives of various nationalities assembled at the university, which once again shows that the victory is a result of our joint efforts," the pro-rector of the Moscow State University of International Relations said.

The concert program began with the presentation of Azerbaijan which was opened by 11-year old Naz-Khanim who recited a patriotic poem about Azerbaijan. Later a dance was performed under the Azerbaijani national music Sari Galin which was received with great applause. The audience also highly appreciated the performance of Azerbaijani remix-rhythms in Azerbaijani nagara by Rovshan Yolchuyev.

The performance given by the State Dance of Azerbaijan created a stir amongst the audience and they were amazed at the performance of Karabakh Suite by the Ensemble. The performances of Azerbaijani music collectives were accompanied with a slide show about Azerbaijan.

The presentation of Azerbaijan was organized by the representation of Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Russia, Azerbaijani Club of the Moscow State University of International Relations, Youth Organization of Azerbaijan in Russia, Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia and Baku magazine and the Azerbaijani collective of Moscow secondary school #157.

Later Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Slovakia, Moldova, Germany, France, Belarus, Georgia and Kazakhstan performed their own dances.

Armenia was represented with the Shalakho dance, a well-known dance of Azerbaijan which was imitated in an amateur style with Azerbaijani dance elements. The slide shows of Armenia based on falsification of facts, described it as a country with a 4,000-year history and a country which first converted to Christianity.
