Blue skies in Beijing for busy Olympic weekend
Blue skies but high humidity of around 88 per cent greeted athletes Saturday for the second day of athletics events at the Beijing Games.
Temperatures were expected to rise from 23 to a high of 31 degrees Celsius during the day before cooling to around 25 degrees in the evening for the blue riband event of the Olympics, the men's 100 metres.
Sunny conditions were also forecast for the canoeing at the Shunyi Olympic Rowing Park for the first seven medal events in the sport.
Hong Kong's equestrian riders continue to compete in temperatures of around 34 degrees while the sailors in Qingdao can expect only light winds and the odd sunny spell, the dpa reported.
