The last week of competition at the Beijing Games started Monday in unusually mild temperatures, but forecasters said thunderstorms would threaten toward evening.
On a bright day, temperatures of around 22 degrees were registered at 9 am. These were expected to go up to 29 by midday, the dpa reported.
