Football celebrity David Beckham is one of the featured stars at the handover event during the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics, London 2012 organizers confirmed on Friday.
Handover organizer Bill Morris also confirmed the presence of popular singer Fiona Lewis, who in a clash of generations will be accompanied by Led Zeppelin guitar legend Jimmy Page at the Sunday event, reported dpa.
Morris did not want to reveal any details of the eight-minute programme embedded in the Beijing closing ceremony which he said will be "a catalyst for the UK."
He added: "We will not compete with the BOCOB ceremony. It will be simple, youthful, athletic loud and proud like London, entertaining and fun."
Morris said that the opening and closing ceremonies in London won't be held on a similar grand scale as those in Beijing. "It will be a different city in a different time," he said.
