Azerbaijan, Baku, 28 November / corr Trend R.Ergun / Michel van Meurs, General Secretary of the International Council of Military Sport (ICMS) and Colonel, was satisfied with organization of the 52nd world boxing championship among servicemen being held in Baku.
During a meeting with Colonel-General, Safar Abiyev, minister of defense, Meurs expressed his hope that Azerbaijani boxers would occupy top places in the tournament, the Ministry of Defense told Trend .
The Secretary General thanked Azerbaijani minister for support rendered in organization of theworld championship.
Azerbaijani sport develops at quick paces, sportsmen of the country achieve successes in the Olympic games over the past years, Abiyev said.
Presently, 131 countries enter ICMS.
Final matches of world boxing championship among servicemen will be held on 29 November. Six Azerbaijani boxers will fight for gold medals.
