A sponsor of professional football club Ganja is known, President of the club Elmir Mammadov said at the press-conference on Feb. 17. Aznur Holding will be the sponsor of the club, he said.
Management of Aznur Holding displayed interest in all opportunities of the club. Budget documents were looked through. Sponsor agreed to finance the club," Mammadov said.
Ganja club has not participated in Azerbaijan's Premier League for three years because of financial crisis.
Kapaz (old name of Ganja club) became country's champion four times.
Chief coach of Ganja football club was also called at the press-conference. Chief coach of Shakhdag Gusar team Fuad Ismayilov was appointed this position.
The team will join players of the first group in August, Ismayilov said. Football club Ganja will mainly use local players. Former players of the club passing to other teams will also be invited," he said.
