Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb. 28 / Trend , J. Babayeva/
Azerbaijani secondary comprehensive schools will have deputy information communications technology (ICT) directors.
"One deputy director will work on ICT issues. It is impossible to develop ICT at schools without people dedicated solely to these issues," Azerbaijani Education Minister Misir Mardanov told reporters on Feb. 28.
The Education Ministry will require secondary comprehensive school directors and teachers to take ICT courses.
"All teachers must begin using computers. This will lead to educational development," the minister said.
About 70 percent of Azerbaijani schools have the opportunity to use ICT, Mardanov said.
"There are 70,000 comprehensive secondary school teachers in Azerbaijan. If 15,000-20,000 teachers take ICT courses every year, the ICT training process will end in 7-8 years," he said.
There are over 4,000 secondary comprehensive schools in Azerbaijan.
