Azerbaijani opposition movement supports struggle for democracy in Iran

Movement, in which the opposition parties of Azerbaijan, supports the struggle for democracy and free elections since the presidential elections in Iran.

"We categorically condemn the crimes committed against Iranian people,' the declaration adopted at a meeting of the Movement for Karabakh and the Republic says.

Mass demonstrations are underway in Iran against results of presidential vote. Supporters of the former presidential candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi claim that election results have been falsified. Mousavi did not accept his defeat and accused his rival Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of rigging election results. Latest developments claimed 25 lives. Hundreds of political activists have been arrested.  

The Movement for Garabagh and Republic was founded by Popular Front Party, Citizens and Development, Liberal, Democrat, Musavat and Umid Parties prior to the March 18 referendum.
