Prosecutor called for imprisonment of ex-editor-in-chief of Khalq qazeti, author of articles in New Musavat newspaper Mahal Ismayiloglu in Azerbaijan.
Prosecutor asked to convict ex-editor-in-chief to three years and a half of imprisonment during the process in the court of Absheron region, Ismayiloglu's lawyer Alaif Hasanov tolf Trend on June 19.
The process will continue with participation of lawyers on June 30.
Criminal case towards Ismayiloglu was filed on the basis of housemaid's complaint working in his neighbors' house. Ex-editor-in-chief is accused of article 128 of the Criminal Code (less intentional health hazard).
Nasiba Nurush said that journalist exerted physical pressure and insulted her.
Ismayiloglu said that criminal case was ordered. They want to punish him for articles in which he criticizes power.
