Presentation of the Guba Center of the Azerbaijani Red Crescent Society was held in Baku, on Aug.17 after overall restoration with the financial and technical assistance from the Israeli organization Magen David Adom.
Magen David Adom invested $4,000 in the rehabilitation of the center.
"When I think how I could start my first working week in Azerbaijan, I cannot think of a better scenario than starting with a visit to the Red Crescent Society, an organization that helps to save lives," Israeli ambassador tom Azerbaijan Michael Lavon-Lotem said at the ceremony.
This is only the first meeting, Lavon-Lotem said expressing his hope that the Israel-Azerbaijan cooperation in this area will continue to strengthen in subsequent meetings.
Yossi Ives, Rabbi of London, being engaged in charity and activities of Magen David Adom handed to the Company President, Novruz Aslanov, a certificate to thank for contribution to development cooperation.
Ives expressed hope that this event will be followed by a series of training sessions between Israel and Azerbaijan in the field of medicine and in humanitarian mission.
This is not the first meeting of the kind. Employees of the Magen David Adom held a week-training in Azerbaijan in 2008. The organization planned to hold similar arrangements throughout the country in 2009.
