Women Laureates of Nobel Prize book by Azerbaijani MP presented (PHOTO)

On Dec. 23, Baku Nobel Heritage Fund hosted the presentation of "Women Laureates of Nobel Prize" book by Azerbaijani MP Ganira Pashayeva.

On Dec. 23, Baku Nobel Heritage Fund hosted the presentation of "Women Laureates of Nobel Prize" book by Azerbaijani MP Ganira Pashayeva.

"Women Laureates of Nobel Prize" book contains essays, portraits on the path of life, creativity and scientific activities of 35 women who received the Nobel Prize in 1903-2009. In his preface to the book, the Board member of the Nobel Family Society, co-founder and trustee of the Nobel Charitable Foundation Gustav Nobel assessed it as encyclopedic source, resulting from intense historical researches.

The presenter of the event, editor of the book, famous journalist Flora Khalilzade said that up to now, Pashayeva has been the author of several books, but this is the first book dealing with this sphere. She noted that the book was framed very nicely.

Consultant of the book, the president of the Baku Nobel Heritage Fund Togrul Bagirov said in his speech that this book will strengthen Azerbaijan's influence around the world and further strengthen it.

"This book will be very important for the Azerbaijani society," Bagirov said.

According to him, he supports the publication of the book by the Fund. He also noted that the Board member of the Nobel Family Society, co-founder and trustee of the Nobel Charitable Foundation, author of the preface to the book Gustav Nobel sent a congratulatory letter to Pashayeva in connection with the publication of the "Women Laureates of Nobel Prize" book.  

Deputy speaker of Azerbaijan Parliament Bahar Muradova said in her speech that Ganira Pashayeva has done a lot of work to identify and present to readers the women who have achieved success in the fields such as science, literature, etc.  

"The book will show path to women who want to achieve great success. I believe in it. We must build our work in such a way to increase the number of our women contributing to world science," said deputy speaker of Parliament.

Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova also stressed the importance of publishing the book and its significance for the Azerbaijani readers. According to her, Pashayeva has always been active, and therefore successful. One of these achievements is the publication of this book.

Rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages, MP Samad Seyidov drew attention to the fact that Pashayeva is socially active, fighting personality.

Making a speech at the event, the head of OSCE Office in Baku, Ali Bilge Dzhankorel appreciated Pashayeva's peaceful activities.

According to the chairperson of the Azerbaijani parliamentary commission on human rights Rabiyat Aslanova, the opportunity created by Ganira Pashayeva for the Azerbaijani readers to get familiarized with outstanding people is her great success.

Making a speech, Ganira Pashayeva said that this book was dedicated to her mother, Tehran Nagiyeva, having trained many chemists during her teaching activities.

"From my early age, I learned interesting stories from my mother about the women who received the Nobel Prize. My mother made me fall in love with chemistry, talking about mother and daughter Mary and Irene Curie. The underlying theme in her story about the women who received the Nobel Prize was the idea that all the successes are achieved through great work, difficulties, and sometimes sacrifice of health, life," said Pashayeva.
Pashayeva said that in her life she is grateful to two women.

"One of them is my mother, other one - the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva. I am grateful to Mehriban Aliyeva for my participation in political life today. Azerbaijan's Nationwide Leader Heydar Aliyev's role is irreplaceable in my achievements," said Pashayeva in her speech.
The consultant of the "Women Laureates of Nobel Prize" book is the president of the Baku Nobel Heritage Fund Togrul Bagirov, editors - Parvana Mammadli and Flora Khalilzade.
