Azerbaijan, Baku, May 4 / Trend K. Zarbaliyeva /

The Law on "Domestic Violence " must be adopted taking into account all peculiarities of the national moral and family values, MP of the Azerbaijani parliament said.

MP Rafael Jabrailov told about it during debates with head of the public association "Clean World" Mehriban Zeynalova organized on the theme "Violence in the family is the main cause of human trafficking."

MP did not agree that failed approval of the law has a direct impact on combating human trafficking in Azerbaijan.

He said that most victims of human trafficking are women from dysfunctional families.

The Azerbaijani Parliament is preparing a law on domestic violence. MP said that it is impossible to approve the law rapidly without taking into account national and moral values.

"I do not exclude the possibility that criminal incidents occur in today's families.

Zeynalova argues that failed approval of this law is one of the factors that create challenges in combating human trafficking.

"Human traffickers are always looking for the weak link in the chain. By adopting this law, we will strengthen the weak link in the chain," she said.

She said that many women, victims of domestic violence, are among victims of human trafficking in Azerbaijan.

Head of the union also considers it important to record the national moral and family values of Azerbaijan while approving the new law.
