The Kura River is the major waterway in the South Caucasus and the common natural heritage of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. A 20-minute documentary about the river was filmed as part of the EU's "Hello Europe" project.

A film crew traveled down a 500-kilometer section of the river on an inflatable boat and filmed the surrounding environment.

The three countries have disputed the level of pollution in the river. However, the situation improved after the EU allocated 3 million euro to establish a joint system to monitor water quality.

The film is one of 10 documentaries broadcast by Georgia under the "Hello Europe" project.

The project aims to increase understanding between Armenian, Azerbaijani and Georgian citizens.

All 10 films have already been screened on Georgian national and regional TV channels. Now they are available with English subtitles on the website: www.hello-europe.info

"Hello Europe" was one of 12 projects funded by EuropeAid.
