The ecology and interior ministries held joint raids in Sumgayit today to study municipal solid waste management.
The Jorat municipality was fined 7, 000 manat for burning waste along the coast, the Ecology and Natural Resources ministry reported.
The Sumgayit Purity Department was also fined 7, 000 manat after the ministries discovered that the waste generated at its catering facilities on the coast are regulated improperly.
Sam Catering Administrator N. Askerov, Al-Amrah Catering Administrator A. Mikayilov, Sahil-1 Catering Administrator N. Amirov, Pearl Catering Administrator K. Mammadov, Ugur Catering Administrator N. Verdiyev and Peribulag Catering Administrator S. Safarov were all fined 500 manat as legal entities for improperly managing waste on the coast.
Another catering facility administrator, A. Zamanov, was fined 500 manat as a physical entity for improperly regulating the solid waste generated at his coastal facility.
