Ecology Ministry: Water levels up in rivers due to torrential rains in Azerbaijan

As a result of torrential rains observed on Oct. 5-6, water levels have risen in Azerbaijan's rivers, the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources reported.

As a result of torrential rains observed on Oct. 5-6, water levels have risen in Azerbaijan's rivers, the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources reported.

Isolated flooding was observed in the rivers Kishchay, Shinchay, Kungutchay, Zeyzitchay, Garachay, Dahnachay, Dashagilchay, Ayrichay, Balakenchay, Mazimchay, Talachay, Kurmukchay, Hamamchay and Turianchay in the Balaken-Shaki area.

The water level rose by 30-90 cm in the rivers of the Lankaran-Astara area, by 20-40 cm in the rivers of the Guba-Khachmaz area, and by 10-27 cm in the rivers of the Gazakh-Ganja area.

Currently, the water content of the country's rivers is above ten-day rule. The highest water level is observed in the rivers of the Lankaran-Astara area.

There have been floods in the rivers of the Balaken-Shaki region, torrential rains in the territory of Georgia in the basin of rivers Ganikh and Kur, the water level in the Ayrichay section of the Ganikh River has risen to 103 cm and the water level in the Giragkesemen section has risen by 16 cm
