The Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov demanded from security forces to "take all measures to strictly ensure public order in the country in the days of celebrations (Independence Day - Oct. 27)," the Turkmen Government said.
"Nothing must cloud atmosphere of celebration and elation of Turkmens," he said.
The Turkmen leader, noting the great importance of celebrations to mark the 19th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, also stressed that the traditional military parade in honor of this important date "must be held at the highest organizational level" .
