JSC "Azer-Yod" received warning in connection with environmental pollution by one of its plants, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources told Trend.
A group of residents of the Mirgubanli village of the Neftchala region appealed with a complaint to the ministry in connection with the emission by the Neftchala plant for the production of iodine, which is owned by the "Azer-Yod" company, of vapors of chlorine, iodine, sulfur gases and sulfate acids into the atmosphere, as well as in connection with the leak in the pipes of the plant, which led to the salinization of soil. The situation has been examined on the spot with the participation of employees of the Environmental Protection Department, the executive director of "Azer-Yod" A. Abdullaev, and the complainants.
During the examination it was found that the plant does not emit vapors of chlorine, iodine, sulfur gases and sulfate acids into the atmosphere. However, it became known about a leak from the tank, which receives iodized water from the wells of the Neftchala field.
On the fact that the Ministry's employees made an act, the company's leadership was instructed to resolve the identified deficiencies.
