Baku will host the Third Congress of World Azerbaijanis in July 2011.
The event will be organized in accordance with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's decree "On the twentieth anniversary of the state independence of Azerbaijan Republic" dated Jan.21, 2011.
Representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora in various countries around the world, including scientists, community leaders and cultural figures, businessmen living abroad, will attend the event, the State Committee for Work with Diaspora told Trend.
The Congress is also expected to bring together scientists, government officials, representatives of political parties, intellectuals and MPs, who are not Azerbaijanis, but constantly support the aim of bringing the truth about Azerbaijan to the world.
The congress will discuss the work undertaken since the Second Congress of World Azerbaijanis, as well as exchange views on the upcoming challenges of the Azerbaijani diaspora and the prospects for further work.
The State Committee developed an action plan for the organization of the Congress and established a working group.
