Azerbaijan, Baku, April 9 / Trend A. Tagiyeva /
Holding of various cultural events in Azerbaijan turns Baku into "Cultural Davos", the First Deputy Director General of ITAR-TASS, Mikhail Gusman, said.

"As Baku is at the junction of civilizations, it is not the coincidence," he told media. We hope that these events will be continued in Baku at a high level,"
Gusman also participates in the forum.

The International Intercultural Dialogue Forum has opened in Baku on April 7.
Gusman also stressed the need of liberating Azerbaijan's territories occupied by Armenia.

He said that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict can not be unresolved, because the very notion of justice testifies to the fact that the occupied lands of Azerbaijan must be released.

Nagorno-Karabakh must get rather a wide autonomy within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, he said.

The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan since 1992, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts.
Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Russia, France, and the U.S. - are currently holding peace negotiations.
Armenia has not yet implemented the U.N. Security Council's four resolutions on the liberation of Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding regions.
