A scandal erupted around football matches in Georgia.

Deputy Head of the Constitutional Security Department at the Georgian Interior Ministry Ioseb Topuridze announced revealed several cases of bribes in the Football League of Georgia.

The law enforcement officers revealed fraud and arrested captains of the Samtredia Football Club Spartak Gogia and Bahia (Zugdidi) Roin Oniani. They took money for fixed results, which were set by the bookmakers. Mediator David Gabedava gave money to players from the bookmakers.

Wit Georgia (Tbilisi) Football Club's player Giga Bechvaia and Bahia's player Levan Vartagava were also arrested.

According to a video recording, even the players negotiate the number of foul shots or replacements to be made during a match.

On average, the players received $12,000-$15,000 per game from the machinations.
