Azerbaijan, Baku, May 11 / Trend, M. Aliyev /

The OSCE Baku Office stands for a dialogue between Azerbaijani authorities and the opposition and fully supports such talks, Head of the OSCE Baku Office Ali Bilge Cankorel told journalists.
He expressed hopes that such dialogues will begin in the near future, believing that the ruling New Azerbaijan Party is ready to cooperate.

An event was planned to foster discussions between political parties with the OSCE Baku Office's organizational support on March 7-8. Experts from the OSCE central office were among those invited.

The Azerbaijani Presidential Administration and Parliament's senior officials were expected to attend the event, along with several political party representatives.

The dialogue did not hold, given parties' lack of participation in the dialogue.

Azerbaijan has more than 60 political parties, 54 of which have passed state registration.
