Fidel Castro Ruz - Advisor on Scientific Affairs of the State Council of Cuba Fidel Castro Diaz-Balart met at Baku State University with the rector of the University Abel Maharramov, the press-service of the Baku State University said.
"My country is interested in cooperation in the field of natural sciences, especially in training of undergraduates and doctoral candidates in this sphere," Fidel Castro Diaz-Balart said at the meeting.
BSU is ready to cooperate with Cuba in the field of science and education, said academician Abel Maharramov, and added that the foundation of this cooperation was laid during the Soviet period. Noting that there is the same scientific school in Azerbaijan and Cuba, the rector expressed his confidence that this cooperation will be fruitful.
Cuban guests paid special attention to the achievements of the Baku State University in the field of nanotechnology. According to Fidel Castro Diaz-Balart, Cuba does not want to stay away from global trends in the study of nanotechnology.
