Participants of International Camp of Young Environmentalists organized by the International Dialogue for Environmental Action (IDEA) adopted a final declaration on Saturday. The Camp, which deals with environmental issues, kicked off in Gabala on Friday and will end its work today.

Gabala principles include five messages from the world's young people for a safer future in harmony with global environment, declaration said. These messages are "Take responsibility for the problem", "Respect our right to a safe, low carbon future", "Demand greater understanding", "Youth has a voice", "Personal commitment".

"We, the representatives from 35 countries of the world, are aware of the urgency and threats posed by new and emerging global environmental challenges. We endorse the view that current global economic models are negatively impacting our environment and destroying irreplaceable natural resources. High carbon emissions, global warming and climate change are the symptoms of a huge and damaging increase in mankind's environmental impact", declaration said.

The Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder of the International Dialogue for Environmental Action (IDEA) Leyla Aliyeva, Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Minister Huseyn Bagirov, Youth and Sport Minister Azad Rahimov, representatives of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration and SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) attended the opening ceremony on Friday. The event were attended by over 100 young environmentalists from around the world.

The main theme panels were: the role of youth in solving new and emerging global environmental problems; the prospects for cooperation on the environment - projects and community support networks and the development of "green economy".
