On Saturday, an open Republican championship on ice climbing took place on frozen waterfalls near the village of Lyazya, Gusar district, north Azerbaijan.
The championship took place on February 11-12 under the assistance of the joint organization of the Federation of Air and Extreme Sports of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The athletes from Russia, Turkey, Georgia and Iran participated in the event.
A total of 120 participants competed, including 100 Azerbaijani sportsmen.
In the first round of the competition, which was held on Friday, the athletes were tested on the complexity, and on Sunday in the second round - on speed.
