As many as 39 employees were dismissed from the Interior for shortcomings in work, head of the State Traffic Police of the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry Ramiz Zeynalov said in an interview published in the official newspaper Respublika on Saturday.
He said that last year for the shortcomings 697 employees were punished, 39 people were dismissed from the Interior, 20 employees were dismissed from their posts.
"It shows that among us there are still employees who commit acts that are incompatible with professional activities. But most importantly, a fundamental struggle against them continues and such negative cases are being investigated," he said.
At the same time, he noted that one-sided attitude to this issue would be wrong.
"Among the drivers there are those who, after a traffic violation resort to various means to avoid an administrative penalty, and offer the road patrol service officers money, gifts, etc., thereby involving them into illegal activities," the general said.
