Azerbaijani Karabakh breed horses presented at jubilee of British Queen's reign (PHOTO)

As part of the activities undertaken in connection with the 60th anniversary of the British Queen Elizabeth II reign on the throne, historic Windsor Castle, which is one of the official residences of the British kings, hosted a solemn Horse Show, namely The Diamond Jubilee Pageant, Azerbaijani Embassy in Great Britain told Trend on Tuesday.

As part of the activities undertaken in connection with the 60th anniversary of the British Queen Elizabeth II reign on the throne, historic Windsor Castle, which is one of the official residences of the British kings, hosted a solemn Horse Show, namely The Diamond Jubilee Pageant, Azerbaijani Embassy in Great Britain told Trend on Tuesday.

The Azerbaijani delegation along with a number of countries around the world participated in the show. Within five days about 1,200 people and more than 550 horses attended the show. The show was widely covered by such leading newspapers of the country as The Times, The Daily Mail.

Azerbaijan's participation in this show is organised by the Equestrian Federation of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the UK and Europe- Azerbaijan Society.

The Azerbaijani delegation consisted of representatives of the Federation of Equestrian Sport of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, as well as from members of the Azerbaijan State Dance Ensemble. Performances of Karabakh horses and the State Dance Ensemble of Azerbaijan have aroused great interest and applause from the participants.

Great interest of the show participants was aroused by a special area created by the Europe-Azerbaijan Society, where they presented a rich culture, ancient history and modern development of Azerbaijan and the success of the national equestrian sports. The event participants listened to folk songs performed by Ravana Arabova.

Britain's Queen Elizabeth II on May 11 received the representatives of the countries that took part in an event at her residence - Windsor Castle. A delegation of Azerbaijan along with other countries attended the dinner. The event was attended by the head of the Azerbaijani delegation, President of the Azerbaijani Equestrian Federation, Elchin Guliyev, the Ambassador Fakhraddin Gurbanov and chairman of the Europe-Azerbaijan Society Taleh Heydarov.
